The nice people in my new office made a name tag for the wall outside my office - it was strange to see the "LtCol (s)" (the 's' is for 'select' - as in, selected for promotion but not pinned on yet). It's going to take some getting used to.The FIST sticker I added myself.

Hey Dan, you know what they call a Lt Col select, don't you? "Major!"
Now, I must admit, I giggle every time the gate guard calls me Colonel (of the telephone variety) when I get to base in the morning. Hope the new job is treating you well, and I hope your year group's really low promotion increments don't keep you waiting too long.
Wow....that makes it look pretty official, huh?
@Phil - Yeah, but for some reason the crew I'm working with keeps introducing me to people as LtCol(s)... It's kinda funny. I think they're starting to transition to just Major now, which i certainly prefer. :)
