It struck me the other day that we put locks on our doors because we trust that people with lockpicking skills will not use those skills on our locks.
How weird is that!

Ha! Kinda like the argument that we pass gun laws (for example) because we trust that law-abiding citizens won't break that law.
Actually, I think we put locks on our doors because we trust that people won't break our windows if the door is locked.
